The 2026-2027 school year will be Mrs. Garner’s 15th year as a teacher and her 8th year at Pomaria-Garmany Elementary.
Mrs. Garner graduated from Clemson University with an Elementary Education degree. (GO TIGERS!) She also became Early Childhood certified in 2023. She has her Masters of Education from Southern Wesleyan University.
She and her husband, Jason, have been married for 19 years and have 4 children together: Cooper (17), Christian (16), Cohen (14), and Clara Cate (13).
When she is not at school, she loves to be outside searching for critters, cheering on her sports teams (Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Braves, and San Francisco 49ers), and watching her children play sports. She also enjoys traveling and going to the beach when she can.
Ms. Paige Saunders

The 2026-2027 school year will be Ms. Saunders'13th year as a teacher and her 6th year at Pomaria-Garmany Elementary.
Ms. Saunders attended University of South Carolina for Elementary Education. She has her Master's of Education in Educational Technology from Lander University.
Ms. Saunders is from a town in New York called Lake Placid. In 2001, she moved to South Carolina from Lake Placid. She and her fiancé, Ben, live in Chapin with their daughter, Delaney (5).
When she is not at school, she loves to read, listen to music, and go shopping.
Mrs. Mandi McDermott
ELA
The 2026-2027school year will be Mrs. McDermott's 17th year as an educator and her first year at Pomaria-Garmany Elementary.
Mrs. McDermott is a Newberry College graduate where she received a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, where she began her career at Mid-Carolina Middle School. Since then, she has gone on to earn a Master's Degree in Literacy from Coastal Carolina and an additional Master's Degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
Mrs. McDermott was born and raised in South Carolina and has spent a majority of her life in this area raising her 3 children, Brady, Kassidy and Cason with her husband, Brian, 26 years. She has recently built a home in Prosperity with her family and is glad to be "home" in Newberry County again.
In her downtime, she loves to fish, camp, garden and read psychological thrillers.
