Hello Everyone,
Welcome to week 4: EMDR, Mindfulness, and Other Trauma Therapies
This week, we will explore how trauma can affect the brain, memory, emotions, and nervous system.
We will look at evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, mindfulness, biofeedback, neurofeedback, and other trauma-focused therapies, and discuss how these approaches may support emotional healing, stress regulation, neuroplasticity, and cognitive resilience.
Last Week: Positive Thinking Skills
Last week, we explored how positive thinking can help us approach life’s challenges with a more constructive and balanced outlook. We discussed that positive thinking does not mean ignoring difficulties or negative emotions. Instead, it means recognizing what is happening, understanding how we interpret it, focusing on what is within our control, and choosing a constructive response.
We also discussed negative self-talk and how, with awareness and practice, we can develop more positive and supportive ways of thinking. These skills can help build resilience and support our overall mental and physical well-being.
