The Mental Health Caravan Extension Program of the BS Psychology department focuses on promoting mental health and well-being (SDG 3), reducing inequality (SDG 5), providing quality education (SDG 4), and addressing poverty (SDG 1) through accessible mental health services. The program offers mental health awareness workshops and seminars, counseling, and psychosocial support to partner communities. By fostering partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders (SDG 17), the Mental Health Caravan aims to create inclusive, equitable, and sustainable mental health solutions that enhance overall well-being and community resilience.
Objectives:
Promote mental health and well-being through workshops, seminars and counseling sessions.
Reduce inequality through impactful mental health services for the vulnerable and underserved sector of the partner communities.
Strengthen partnerships with relevant stakeholders for sustainability and impact of extension programs.
On March 21, 2026, the activity titled Usap-Usapang Ginhawang Kalusugang Kaisipan: Ating Pangalagaan at Pahalagahan" was successfully conducted in Brgy. Bayanan, Bacoor City. The initiative aimed to promote mental health awareness and encourage open conversations about psychological well-being among community adults.
The program was facilitated by dedicated volunteers from Bachelor of Science in Psychology 1A, who guided the discussions and shared valuable insights on managing stress, maintaining emotional balance, and fostering a healthy mindset. Through interactive sharing and a supportive environment, participants had the opportunity to express their thoughts, experiences, and concerns about mental health.
Overall, the activity served as a meaningful platform for learning and connection, helping to reduce stigma surrounding mental health while empowering individuals to take proactive steps toward their well-being.
