Golden Hearts, Golden Memories:
A Celebration of the Life of Elders
On December 16, 2024, the Laboratorium Duces presented a special way of celebrating the end of the year with the theme "Golden Hearts, Golden Memories." It was indeed a golden celebration with the elders of Greenbreeze Village, as we saw their sincere and loving smiles. Being with them for just a moment of time is a wonderful time to reflect on how grateful we should be for the gift of life. The environment also shows how love and care move differently since, through their carers, they continue to experience the love, care, and safety that they all need. This initiative emphasises the value of giving back to our parents and how valuable it is to them. We would also like to express our gratitude to all of the Medical Laboratory Science students who generously donate to our beloved Lolo and Lola. Also, we want to thank Doc Jimmu Mediavillo and our Dean, Doc Joel Matamis, for their assistance to the event's success. Thank you so much, Green Breeze Home for the Elderly, from the Laboratorium Duces.

LIGTAS KAPALIGIRAN: CLEANUP ENVIRONMENT INITIATIVE
The Cleanup Environmental Sanitation Drive, which took place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, promotes cleanliness and environmental protection. Laboratorium Duces organized the Cleanup Drive together with Mr. and Ms. PHISMETS representatives to raise awareness about the importance of environmental action in their community. It is an initiative task that must be focused on, as it is our responsibility to maintain the environment clean and safe. Individuals from the communities ofBarcelona II, Buhay Na Tubig, Imus, and Cavite, SMLS's adopted community, joined us for a cleanup drive, bringing cleaning supplies from their homes to help clean up the area with waste, leaves, plastics, and other waste to be collected and reduced. Individuals, particularly children, helps us in cleaning and disposing of the waste we collect, in which they actively participate in order to clean the environment, as it has also become an opportunity to educate and train them on the importance of segregation, waste management, and disposal within their home, public places, and neighborhood.
Together with help of the BNT Riverside Neighborhood Association in gathering the community, particularly the children, it results in a positive outcome, as shown by the development of the area following the cleanup with our volunteers and officers that it is our responsibility to take action to improve the environment. By focusing on this responsibility, we can prevent possibly harmful diseases from affecting people in our community. Finally, after we had completed and packed up the supplies, we gave the children and volunteers snacks to show our appreciation for their participation in cleaning and raising environmental awareness.
