Greennovation is an initiative dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability through innovative and community-driven actions. The activity brings together volunteers and participants to engage in eco-friendly practices such as waste management, recycling, tree planting, and environmental awareness campaigns. Greennovation brings people together to be responsible stewards of the environment and to build a culture of sustainability.
This initiative supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting cleaner and greener surroundings, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production through proper waste management and resource use, and SDG 13: Climate Action by raising awareness and encouraging actions that help combat climate change. Greennovation serves as a platform to empower communities to innovate toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on proper waste disposal and encourage students to take part in maintaining a healthier environment. More importantly, the activity fostered unity among students from the BSMLS, BSA, BMMA, BSED, BEED, and BACOMM programs and reinforced the value of teamwork and civic engagement in building a more sustainable and orderly environment. As part of the celebration of Earth Day 2025: Uniting for a Sustainable Future, the Community Extension Services Office launched the exciting competition, “Greennovation: Recycled Art Challenge.” This creative contest invited National Service Training Program (NSTP) students, both as individuals and in groups, to showcase their innovation and environmental awareness through art crafted entirely from recycled materials. The challenge aimed to highlight the power of creativity in promoting sustainability, aligning with the Earth Day theme “Innovate, Educate, and Activate.”
From twenty-five impressive entries, only five contestants were selected as the Top 5 Winners, recognized for their originality, craftsmanship, and strong environmental message. Their works not only captivated the judges but also inspired the audience, reinforcing the idea that small actions, even in art, can spark big change for the planet.
Participants transformed everyday waste into meaningful artistic pieces, reflecting environmental themes, community issues, and climate consciousness. The “Greennovation” challenge stood as a testament to the youth’s role in climate action and their potential to lead through innovation and advocacy.

A timely and insightful webinar titled “Be Disaster-Proof: Strategies for Effective Disaster Management” was successfully conducted as part of the institution’s continuing efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and awareness among the academic community. The virtual session brought together a diverse group of participants composed of NSTP students, faculty members, and staff, all united in their commitment to building a resilient and informed society.
The highlight of the webinar was the presence of the distinguished guest speaker, Fr. Aristelo Diez Miranda, MI, Director of Camillian Disaster Service International (CADIS). Fr. Miranda shared his vast experience in humanitarian missions and disaster response, both locally and globally. His presentation emphasized a holistic approach to disaster management, integrating preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation strategies with community engagement and compassion.

While the team did their best to retrieve all visible litter, certain unstable or hazardous areas made it difficult to access some debris. Nonetheless, the group made significant progress.
