Parents, Teachers, Students, and Volunteers gathered at the local Elementary School, brooms and paintbrushes in hand. It was the start of Brigada Eskwela—a week dedicated not only to cleaning and repairing classrooms but also to nurturing hope.
Theme echoed louder than ever: "Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan" Everyone knew that education was the key to a better life aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education. Volunteers helped repaint walls, build reading corners, and plant gardens that would teach children about sustainability and nutrition.
The event wasn't just about physical work. It was a showcase of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Local businesses donated supplies, NGOs held workshops on health and safety, and youth groups organized storytelling sessions. The Barangay Council supported logistics, showing how different sectors can unite for a common purpose.
By the end of the week, the once-dull classrooms glowed with color, ready to welcome young minds. But more than that, the whole community walked away with renewed purpose—committed to building sustainable, resilient communities (SDG 11) through education and cooperation.
In Brigada Eskwela, every painted wall and every shared meal is a step closer to a future where no child is left behind.
On June 9, 2025, St. Dominic College of Asia collaborated with two Cavite schools to kick off this year’s Brigada Eskwela. With energy and strong purpose, volunteers from the institution’s various offices are ready to make a difference.
At Sangley Point National High School, eight workgroups representing DASS, CESO, HSO, CORPCOM, HRO, ICT, Operations, and PMO fanned out across campus. Volunteers prepared school supplies donations such as notebooks, writing materials, and art kits donated by the SDCA community. The volunteers also tackled room cleaning, clearing out cluttered corners to create fresh, inviting learning spaces.
Another team from SDCA unfolded at Noveleta National High School and Noveleta Senior High School. Here, another representative from DASS, and various volunteers from BEd, PMO, CESO, CORPCOM and HRO conducted donations and campus cleaning as well.
This volunteerism conducted by the SDCA is part of the collaboration forged between Cavite schools. It is a way of giving back to the community. More than the physical transformation, Brigada Eskwela’s true success lay in the camaraderie forged between St. Dominic College and the host campuses—a living testament to what can be achieved when hearts and hands unite in service of education.
