We had an idea. our EAST team had a problem with traditional reading logs. We had a problem with how they crushed students motivation to read and they had serious flaws That allowed many students not to do the reading logs. The EAST team got to work, taking inspiration from the CART concept They tried desperately to perfect the reading log recipe. They examined the past mistakes and success of other reading log developers. They used the information to expand on the idea and us critical thinking skills. trial after trial they toiled... until finally, they had found the recipe. They had the idea. but most importantly, there was critical amounts of fine incentive. a substance that the other developers had left out of the recipe. this incentive soon formed into a reading challenge that was adopted into the Hellstern school community. it was done.
In the reading challenge there are several book gene. The reader is challenged to read typically eight books. The challenged ends every nine weeks or semester. students that complete the challenge get a pin for their school lanyard or for anything else they desire to put it on.
This project was a success! Many students complete the challenge and enjoy it at the same time this has replaced reading logs in our school and sooner than later will replace other reading logs in other schools. This projected has helped the students enjoy reading again this has saved the future generations from hating reading.
The Pin Designs
The pins have several designs to continue students to read and do the reading challenge. This makes students be able to collect them all!
