About Mr. VanZeeland

Mr. VanZeeland grew up playing music around Milwaukee, WI. He began learning piano and violin in 4th grade and quickly learned to sing and play, performing duets with his brother in the lobby of a local theater. By high school, he could play over ten instruments and participated in school musicals, choir, orchestra, and a student-directed fiddle band called Fellowship of the Strings. Performance credits include Lucas (The Adams Family), Kenickie (Grease), Lord Savage (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde), Issachar (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), and Bobby (A Chorus Line). He received a Tommy Award for the role of the Emerald City Guard (Wizard of Oz).
Mr. VanZeeland received his degree from Northland College in 2020 and is continuing his education through Viterbo University. In 2021-2022 he taught K-12 general music, band, and choir in Mellen, WI, and looks forward to teaching in his home community of Ashland.

More recently, he has gravitated towards folk and jazz music, releasing his first album of original songs (Toothless Sean) and playing in a local band called Baba Fats.
