Jazz Ensemble at WMS is an auditioned based group open for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students (if you were apart of Jazz Ensemble the year prior, you do not have to audition).  You must continue to play in one of the other ensembles (Concert or Symphonic Band) if you choose to audition for Jazz Ensemble.  Also, before choosing to audition, be sure that you are able to make Monday morning rehearsals from 7:15am - 7:55am.  We will also have occasional rehearsals or jazz sectionals after school on Wednesdays.  Jazz Ensemble auditions will be held in September, and are open for the following instruments:

Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Drum Set.

*Auditioning drummers MUST own their own full drum-set at home.

*Auditioning piano, guitar, or bass guitar players MUST currently be enrolled in private lessons.  Additionally, piano, guitar, and bass players do not have to be a member of the band program to audition for Jazz Ensemble.
