What is Going On Inside Me?
Students begin the unit with the Anchoring Phenomenon of viewing cheek cells and skin cells under a microscope; this prompts them to ask questions about what is going on inside their bodies, allowing them to do all the things they do. Investigative Phenomena include investigations of the various body systems and ties them all together. Students investigate and analyze data to determine the characteristics shared by all living things: growth, reproduction, metabolism, and response to stimuli.
