Chunking is the process of taking in information and breaking it down into smaller pieces to promote reading comprehension of complex text.
Question-Answer relationship (QAR) is a strategy to be used after students have read. QAR teaches students how to decipher what types of questions they are being asked and where to find the answers to them.
TPS is a collaborative learning strategy in which students work together to solve a problem or answer a question about an assigned reading. This technique requires students to (1) think individually about a topic or answer to a question; and (2) share ideas with classmates. Discussing an answer with a partner serves to maximize participation, focus attention and engage students in comprehending the reading material.
TWPS strategy is designed to differentiate instruction by providing students with time and structure for thinking about a given topic, enabling students to formulate individual ideas and share their ideas with a peer.
