Hi, my name is Ms. Morgan and I am a Special Education Resource Teacher here at Washington School this year. If I look familiar to some of you, that may be because I taught at Kennedy School two years ago and for many years before that. In fact, this is my 27th year teaching here in District 81. In that time, I have served in many different roles and taught just about every grade level in all 3 buildings. The majority of my years have been in Special Education or in the Reading Room. While I have been teaching here for 25 years, I have been a member of the SD 81 community for all of my life, as I grew up in Schiller Park and attended both Washington and Lincoln Schools when I was a child. My parents still live in Schiller Park in my childhood home. So, when you are out and about in town you may see me from time to time. If you do see me please say, “Hi!”
When working with the children, I like to see the “lightbulb moments” in their learning. It is so nice to experience when the children understand what you have been talking about and are now able to work more independently.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy going to sporting events, attending concerts, traveling to see friends and family, listening to music, and playing board games.
