During the 2024-2025 school year, our goal was to collect quality, high interest multicultural literature in a core set of diverse languages for local middle schools. 

The improved multilingual collection has lead to a better sense of belonging for our diverse readers and created more opportunities for authentic inclusion and cultural celebration. Research shows that supporting literacy in our students’ home languages helps to create a better foundation for learning additional languages. This initiative has had a positive impact on both social emotional wellness and academic growth. Students have also benefitted from the chance to build community with their peers from other schools.
