Overview

Welcome to our math classes.  This year, I will be teaching an Instructional Math class, as well as a combined 7th and 8th grade Instructional Math class.  Wondering what Instructional Math is all about? Here is what we will be working on this year:

All students will be focusing on their grade level math standards while gaining more support in learning, strengthening and succeeding in math fluency, utilities and strategies.   The foundation for success in math is not just being able to answer a question correctly or doing it quickly.  It is about having a bank of strategies that you can flexibly choose from, understand why you make those choices, and do this efficiently and accurately.

Throughout the year, I will email updates on what we are doing in class, tips and ways you can work with your child at home, and feedback on how they are doing.  Stay tuned!
