Hi Families and Students,

I'm so excited for another school year in District 73.5! After graduating from Niles West High School and University of Illinois, in Champaign, with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and psychology, I lived in multiple states and explored multiple opportunities for teaching future leaders.  Eventually, I chose to return home, and earned a Masters Degree in Technology Leadership from Concordia University. Growing and adapting to our changing world is a critical part of educating every student to succeed in the future.

I have taught seventh grade science for many years, but always missed the excitement and impact of teaching the younger students. Although failure is never fun, I work hard to ensure that students feel comfortable failing and reframe it as a learning attempt.  Good engineers, scientists, artists, app developers, YouTubers, and other STEAM professionals, know that the first attempt in learning is rarely the masterpiece. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn and grow each year as students explore the STEAM world and prepare for a future beyond our imagination.
