Welcome to the STEAM class at Oliver McCracken Middle School! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, and our class is all about hands-on learning and creativity. In 6th grade, students dive into engineering, with exciting projects in robotics and programming along the way. As they move into 7th and 8th grade, they tackle fun, fast-paced mini-challenges lasting 8-10 days. These challenges focus on cool topics like mechanisms, robotics, programming, and engineering, all while sharpening their skills in math, science, design, and everyday problem-solving.
For those in our "Super STEAM" class, students will get to explore their passions on a deeper level. They’ll take on advanced projects that could include anything from AI (artificial intelligence) and programming to 3D printing, robotics, and even competitions—designed to match their interests and push their creativity further! We're excited to help students discover and explore what STEAM is all about!
