I grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana. I moved many times in my childhood because my father was a nuclear engineer when only a few reactors were up and running in the United States. But I will always be a Southern girl at heart.
I graduated with a bachelor's in Elementary Education with a concentration in science from the University of New Orleans. I received my first Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in English Language Learners from Concordia University in Chicago. I recently returned to Concordia and finished my second Master's degree as a Reading Specialist.
This is my 33rd year in the classroom. I have taught in four different states. I started teaching in Louisiana and taught in North Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois. My experience has been in third, fourth, and fifth grade. This is my 18th year at Middleton.
I am married and have three children. My boys are 29 and 24, and my daughter is nine years old. My mother and father still live in Pensacola, Florida, making going home a wonderful vacation.
