I began teaching at McCracken Middle School in August of 2008 and plan to continue until I retire. Prior to McCracken, I gained 6 years of teaching experience mostly (5 years) at Francis Xavier Warde school in downtown Chicago. I earned a master's degree from DePaul University in teaching and learning and I earned a bachelor's degree from Knox College, where I majored in biology.
At McCracken, I have taken on a few extra responsibilities over the years. I have been a BOOST teacher since 2024 and will continue that role again this year. I was the Science Department Leader from 2011-2026. I coached basketball at McCracken for 10 years and I continue to attend home games and work the scoreboard. I was the 7th Grade Team Leader for 4 years total from 2018-2020 and then again from 2022-2024. Also in the past, I served on the NGSS Leadership Team and the Technology Committee. I have also had the rewarding experience of mentoring a new staff member through their first year of teaching and also mentoring a student teacher.

This will be my 14th year teaching at McCracken Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. I earned a Master's Degree in Teaching from National Louis University. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from Elmhurst College. Lastly, I earned a nursing degree from College of DuPage.
Throughout the last 13 years at McCracken, I have participated on multiple committees and served in a number of leadership roles. I have served on the district Highly Qualified Staff committee, the MTSS Leadership Team, the district Welcoming Committee and the district NGSS Leadership Team. I have served as the 8th grade team leader on the Building Leadership Team for 7 years and I have also coached the Varsity and JV cheerleading squad for 8 years. I work hard to build relationships with my students and I encourage them to continue developing their critical thinking skills in and out of the classroom. I look forward to partnering with students and families in the school year ahead! Go Hornets!!
