In science, assignments or activities are either FORMATIVE or SUMMATIVE.

FORMATIVE grades are not counted in the final assessment of the standard. They are temperature checks and give us information about where students need more practice or instruction.

SUMMATIVE grades are taken after students have had formative practice, and they are included in the final grade for that standard.

Students typically have a variety of ways to show they have met the standards.

Students are expected to complete work on time. We will reach out to you if we have concerns about work completion.
