EMCS is grateful to welcome Elder Jackie from T'Sou-ke Nation back to our Elder in Residence program. Elder Jackie was born and raised in Sooke. She moved to Northern BC for 36 years, raising her family in Quesnel area. She returned back home T'Sou-ke land in 2011.
Jackie's culture is very important to her, and she credits Elder Shirley Alphonse with her spiritual teaching. She continues to learn, and regularly attends Culture Night at T'Sou-ke Nation.
Jackie is a native dancer, and loves to teach children about her culture. Jackie also loves to hunt, fish, gather, camp, and travel. She is a rock enthusiast who brings deep knowledge into her teachings.
She is a proud member of her community and demonstrates a commitment to student success in School District #62.
