Other Games:

  • The Musicplay website has some great on-line music games. I have been having fun playing them!

For this week’s game see how you do on the Beat or Rhythm Game. You have to listen very carefully to see if you can tell if they are playing the beat or playing the rhythm. Remember: Beat always stays the same, beat never changes. Good luck!

Click on this link: https://musicplayonline.com/

Games are always on the right hand side. The Beat or Rhythm Game is about halfway down.

All the GAMES are on the right side of the screen. Go down to the bottom to find the HIGH LOW GAME. It may take you a few tries as you have to decide if it is high or low! Just play again until you have it! Enjoy!

🎉 Activities 🎉

Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin is one of my favourite pieces of music. It starts with an amazing solo clarinet and has amazing piano parts. George Gershwin wrote really cool piano parts because he was a great piano player and he liked to write fun stuff to play.

The talented animators at Disney added animation to it which perfectly fits the music. Enjoy!!

Other activities:

  • I loved watching this story! I hope you do too! It is all about different instruments and finding the way to make music that is perfect for you.

  • Here is a really fun one! Make sure you figure out some way to MOVE while you are watching this. Keep the beat in your lap or cross clap in your lap or make up your own dance! http://www.viewpure.com/BPWk3SjKRAs?start=0&end=0

  • I hope you like this song and video as much as I do! Please remember to sing along. What does Pete the Cat do when things happen that he wasn’t expecting?

  • Call an older member of your family and find out what song they loved best when they were your age. Ask them to teach it to you and then sing them one of your favourite songs!

  • Close your eyes and listen for what sounds you can hear in the world around you. Think about what sounds you really love and what sounds you don't!

  • I hope you have fun with this one. All you have to do is keep the beat on your heart! It is all about the beat in music and they use hearts to show beat just like Mrs. Evans! The Music Show Episode #1: The Beat Is the Heart of Music .

Week Three — Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Week Four — Two Songs!

See Saw

Kingergarten_SeeSaw.mov

We have been playing the song, ‘See Saw’ in music class. We make up different ways that we can use our body to make a See Saw (or teeter totter). We were patiently waiting for our turns to ‘be the teacher’ and point to the beats while the class kept the beat in their laps and sang the song.

Maybe your family could keep the beat on their laps while you point to them. There is one heart for each beat in the song.

High Low Chicka Low

High Low Chicka Low.MOV

Here is a fun, high and low song called High Low Chicka Low. You will remember that we were working on high and low.

Listen to it once to learn how it goes:

There is a tricky clapping pattern that goes with this. You will have to watch this short video many times in order to learn it! You will need a partner so see if someone in your family will play with you.

Week Five — Bear Hunt

Week Six — One, Two, Buckle My Shoe

Click on the movie section at the middle at the bottom. There are lots of other things you can click on and try.

Week Nine - The Elephant

The elephant goes like this and that

She’s terribly big and she’s terribly fat!

She’s got no fingers, she’s got no toes

But goodness, gracious, what a NOSE!!

(repeat with He for a boy elephant)

Week Ten — Choo Choo Train!

If you have people in your bubble at home to play with, you can link together by making a line and having people hold the waist or shoulders of the person in front of them. The person at the front (the engine) gets to pick the action. When they have had a turn they go to the back and become the caboose and the next person in line becomes the leader (the engine).

Click here and find the kid demo at the bottom of the page and you will see how to play Choo Choo Train.
