... here at Shoreline Middle School we have a small 'wild' section of forest at the back of the school property. It has been left alone for many many years, being used by animals and people for all sorts of things. Many plants have grown wild, some that are Indigneous to the area and many that are invasive plants with European origins. The invasive plants that have taken over the forest have been growing for years and have now taken over. The Indigneous plants have been outgrown by the invasive plants leaving the forest full of a tangle of unwelcomeing plants.
We have begun to care for the forest. By removing the invasive plants, Ivy, Daphen and Blackberry we are hoping the Indigenous plants will return.
