When I was very little my grandma taught me to sew drawstring bags on a sewing machine. She used to make me tiny items for my Barbies and clothes for different occasions. We used to bake in the kitchen for holidays as well and these memories have stuck with me as an adult.
In recent years, I have been learning how to sew clothing and more difficult projects like belt bags, and create my own patterns. I bake often at home and have been learning about recipe creation which is very exciting. Some of my recipes and patterns are part of what you will be making this year.
The Glanford Home Ec. room is a familiar place for me, as a former student. I remember learning even more about cooking and sewing in this very room. I gained a foundation of skills in this room that have been built on throughout the years. I'm excited to be back at Glanford to share these skills with current and future students.
