Transfer Your GSuite Content
June 25, 2019
If you are (or know of) a student who is graduating/leaving the school district this year you may want to transfer (migrate) content from your @sd61learn.ca GSuite account to another private Google account.
Google has a great feature called Google Takeout that makes this process fairly simple.
The following 7 steps will help guide you through this process.
1. Access your GSuite Account
Go to www. google.ca and click Sign in
Log in to your @sd61learn.ca Google Account
Select your profile image (this may just be a circle with your initials)
Click on the blue Google Account Button
2. Select Data & Personalization
3. Click on Start transfer
4. Enter a Destination Account
Enter the email (gmail) address of the Google Account your would like to transfer your data to.
Click on Send Code
Important Notes:
You will need to have another Google Account to transfer your information to. If you don't have one, click on the Create account link.
Personal GSuite accounts are limited to 15GB of storage for free. If you have large files (videos, high resolution photos, long audio projects etc.) you should download and stored them on a USB drive or personal computer first.
5. Confirm Your Transfer
In a new window, log in to your destination account GMail
Don't close the original transfer content window!
Open the email sent from Google to receive your confirmation code
Copy the code (highlight with your mouse and press Ctrl C)
6. Verify Your Destination Account
Go back to your school @sd61lean.ca GSuite Account window
Paste (Ctrl V) the confirmation code
Select Verify
7. Select Data to Transfer
Select the content you want to transfer to your outside account
Confirm the destination account address is correct
Click Start Transfer
