Google Calendar is a much more than just a online version of your traditional wall calendar. It allows you to have multiple calendars you can turn on/off, share events and calendars with others, add public calendars (like our new Mt. Doug Public Calendar), lesson plan with coordinating lesson documents and so much more.
Check out the tutorial video on the right for a good overview of Google Calendar.

If you have multiple calendars viewing them all at once may be overwhelming.
Here are some tips that will help:
Select Display this only from the 3 vertical dots to the right of the calendar name in your My calendars list.
Check or Uncheck each calendar in your calendar lists to turn viewing on or off.
Work smarter, not harder by sharing calendars with others and subscribing to public calendars.
With Google Calendar there is no need for you to have add events to your own calendar(s) that someone else has already created. Instead, have them share their calendar or event with you or add a public calendar if it's available.
Mount Doug is now using Google Calendar as our public calendar on our website.
This calendar has been shared with all staff members GAFE accounts and you should see it listed as "Mt. Doug Public Calendar" under your "Other Calendars" list.
If you (or anyone else) would like to add the calendar to personal Google Calendar Accounts simply go to the calendar page on the school website and hit the "+" button.
What is great about adding a public calendar like this is that as it is updated (events added/deleted/changed) your calendar is automatically updated too.
We have also created and shared a Mount Doug Staff Google Calendar with all staff GSuite Accounts.
To add this calendar click here: Mount Doug Staff Google Calendar and select Add Google Calendar
Find My Calendars list on the left
Find the calendar you want to share and click the arrow next to it.
Select Share this Calendar.
Under Share with specific people, add the email address of the person you want to share with.
For Permission Settings, choose an option in the drop-down menu.
Click Add person, if they aren't already added.
Click Save.
To receive a daily email that includes an agenda of scheduled events in your Google Calendar(s)
Click on the the 3 vertical dots to the right of the calendar(s) you want to receive notifications
Select Settings and sharing
Scroll down or select All-day event or General notifications
Choose Email from the Daily agenda drop down menu
Note: If you have a Daily agenda email notification for multiple calendars you will only receive ONE email with all the events lists.
There are so many great thing about Google Calendar but too many to list all at once.
