Upon receiving your laptop, open it up, connect the battery and turn it on.
It should automatically connect to the wifi in the school - if you are at home you will need to connect to your home network.
Before you can download any additional programs to your laptop you will need to create a new password for installation purposes.
Use the following steps to do this on first login:
Type the following for your username:

Your password is the name of your laptop in uppercase. You should see it on your screen directly below the password box.
You will see a prompt saying: The user’s password must be changed before signing in. Set a password that you will use when you want to install things on your laptop.
Log in to your computer using your district login information.
The same username and password you use to sign into the school computers

5. Click << Add
6. Repeat for other printers
Note: The Photocopier in the Main office is: p4938-Office_Canon_8295
Set a default printer by selecting the printer you want to make your default from the list on the left and click: Set Default
After you have finished making your changes, you will need to log out of your computer and log back in, in order for the new printers install.
Click ‘Yes’ if you see a printer driver install prompt when you log back in.
Many people have noticed their laptop goes to sleep quite quickly when it is not plugged in, making it necessary and annoying to log in again. To fix this:
Go to the Windows Menu (lower left corner)
Click Settings (cog icon)
Select: System - Display, Notification, Apps, Power
Select: Power and Sleep from the menu
Adjust the times for Screen and Sleep to your desired length
You can drag and drop (click and hold left mouse button down, move to desired location, and release mouse button) any program in the Windows Menu list to pin it permanently to the task bar (lower part of your desktop screen).
Alternatively, you can also right click on a program and select "Pin to Taskbar".
