What Do Athletic Trainers and Strength Coaches Do?

Athletic trainers work with players or athletes to ensure that they are healthy and ready to compete. They may also work with medical professionals to treat injuries and design rehabilitation programs for recovering players, as well as monitor their progress.

It is the role of the athletic trainer to evaluate the physical condition of the athletes. A key element in this role is the deep knowledge of techniques for treating sports injuries in order to offer multiple options to recommend to injured players. An athletic trainer is responsible for a range of services, from diagnosing, treating, and working with medical providers on rehabilitation plans after an injury.  Success comes through swift recovery of injured athletes and by the reduction of injuries through proper training and conditioning.

Strength coaches design regimens for the strength and conditioning of our athletes to help them achieve ultimate physical readiness before, during and after competition. Strength coaches help our athletes maintain this level of fitness as the best tool for preventing injuries and best overall health through proper exercise programs.

Both athletic trainers and strength coaches work with athletes, their families, their coaches and medical professionals daily to develop the best plan for keeping our athletes off the bench and onto the field.
