t is not unusual for Drew Turner to be the center of attention in a football game or a track meet. However, he displayed something even more special at halftime of the Homecoming football game. At halftime, Drew was just announced as the 2017 Glacier High Homecoming King when he asked if he could crown Nathanial “Nanno” Mycroft, a young and popular special needs student at Glacier High School. Earlier this fall, the “AA” rugged-league leading rusher and All State running back, Drew verbally committed to University of Montana to play football. Drew has been key to the Pack getting back on the winning track where he has averaged close to 200 yards rushing per game in Glacier’s three game winning streak. Drew will leave Glacier High this spring as its leading rusher of all time. He has done this with a work-ethic and intensity that is relentless. Some athletes that possess gifts similar to Drew’s could only hope that they worked that hard. Coach Grady Bennett has repeatedly stated that Drew is special. He most certainly is!

Not only is Drew an outstanding football player, he is also one of the best sprinters in the entire state of Montana. He won every 200-meter race last spring until he injured his hamstring in the preliminary races at the state track meet. He has also earned multiple state championships on the relay team as well as a number of other medals in track. Drew’s stature is also rather unique for a track athlete as he stands 5-10 and weighs over 200 pounds. Teachers, coaches, and administrators alike appreciate the success that he has brought to the Pack, but they appreciate his self-less Homecoming gesture as much as any touchdown or race winning efforts.
