About the Program

Concert Orchestra:

The Concert Orchestra is for students who have orchestral experience but need to hone both technical and leadership skills to achieve an advanced level. Students enrolling in Concert Orchestra will spend class time developing their musical foundation which includes, but is not limited to, performance skills, music history and music theory. Performances will occur throughout the year and will include evening concerts and music festivals. Students enrolled in Concert Orchestra will have the opportunity to perform solos and ensembles at District Music Festival, as well as being eligible to audition for All- State and All- Northwest Orchestras. Chamber Orchestra:

This select orchestra consists of advanced string students. Chamber Orchestra is the primary performing group of the orchestra department.This orchestra performs music from diverse periods, styles and genres in numerous concerts throughout the year. This orchestra also focuses on chamber music at different times of the year. The Chamber Orchestra students will travel to perform festivals with other orchestras throughout the state, perform at the MHSA District Music festival, and will have an opportunity to tour with the group. Members are eligible to perform solos or ensembles for District and State Music Festival, as well as also being eligible to audition for All State and All Northwest Orchestras.
