Flathead High School Counseling Mission Statement:
The Flathead High School Counseling Program empowers all students to become self-directed, college- and career-ready learners through personalized academic, career, and social-emotional support. We promote safe, inclusive environments and collaborate with families, staff, and the community to ensure equitable access to opportunities and resources that support student success and well-being.
The Flathead High School Counseling Department utilizes the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model to guide our program design. Committed to continuous improvement, we review and refine our services annually. By aligning with the ASCA framework, our department focuses on three core pillars:
Serving Every Student: Through proactive, preventative design, we actively reach out to all students rather than waiting for them to visit us.
Data-Driven Success: We analyze data to identify student needs, select targeted interventions, and continuously measure program effectiveness.
Collaborative Interventions: We partner closely with students, families, school staff, and community resources to maximize support.
We deliver these vital services both directly through individual student meetings, and indirectly by collaborating with the adults and community members who support them.
"Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
