Another item that we would like our students to know more about is Digital Citizenship. We want to remember that our Classroom Promise that we co-created and signed at the beginning of the year, is still our code that we would like to use in our virtual classroom. Even though we are trying to choose safe and appropriate sites for our students, we would like to be proactive and give the children enough information so that they understand their responsibilities to treat others the way they want to be treated online as well as to be safe online. The following are links to two brainpop videos that explain digital literacy further:

Another great resource for ideas for children to engage in Earth Day activities is: https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/celebrations/earth-day/
Some possible natural dye materials might include red onion skins, red cabbage, blue berries, or beets. This activity will have to be overseen by an adult because it involves boiling the water first. White vinegar may also enhance the colour but it isn't necessary. Pre-boil eggs at night. Share your ideas for making natural dyes from materials found in nature. The children could go for a nature walk and look for brightly coloured natural materials. Encourage them to look at leaves, flowers, moss, and seeds. Rub them between their fingers to see what colour emerges. They can brainstorm an idea for a natural dye by thinking about the vegetables and fruit that is in the fridge. Try with a parent to make dyes using one of the suggested materials and perhaps a they can try new idea. We would love to see photos of the dyes and the eggs posted on See Saw.
Please post any eggs or ingredients for home made dyes on See Saw!
Well, here is a new extension, speaking of eggs! Our very own Ms. Megan has been filming and creating some of the best learning experiences that she gave us permission to share! I'm going to copy the link to her google docs for a very Eggggggciting Eggsperience!
Our grade twos might be able to read the slide show with a little parent help. The grade 1s will likely need a parent to read, but this is well worth the read. As an optional activity and extension, the children could try the link to the comprehension questions that are posted below . Our students do know about multiple choice because we do them after we watch Brainpop videos.
