Guest Speaker

Mr. Johnson shared ideas of what we could do and also helped us decide on what we should make.

Brainstorming

First we got ideas from Mr. Johnson. Then our teammates, teachers and us decided that space glasses would be best. Then we drew some models of the space glasses and chose the design we wanted.

Building Our First Model

First we started by cutting out the frame for the glasses. Then we cut out the temples and the earbuds. Then we glued them together and we had the cardboard model.

First Model

This was our prototype made from cardboard. The end of the glasses are string with cardboard pieces of what are will be the earbuds. We also used hot-glue to put all the pieces together.

Ready to Print!

After the cardboard model, we did the 3D design. After we finished the 3D design we started to sort it from the soft filament and hard filament and then we printed it.

Mistakes and more mistakes

We faced a lot of mistakes in this process. One of our biggest mistakes was a piece peeling off of when we took the glasses off the 3D printer. We were able save the print by gluing the layer back on.

Final product

We made a lot of mistakes but we ended up fixing them, and getting a great final product. Our Space glasses allow people who wear glasses, to have their glasses not float away with the use of wireless earbuds. The earbuds can also connect to the speaker system in the space shuttle and space ship and use a built in microphone to communicate.
