SD308 FLL Robotics UNEARTHED™ Season Accomplishments
Team #46411 Octobots from Plank Jr. High are heading to the state tournament on February 14th. GOOD LUCK OCTOBOTS!!
Batavia Sectional Tournament Results:
Team #44445, Tech Preservers, from Traughber Junior High School, were the finalists for the innovation project award. They designed a sifter that is portable, easy to use, and strong. It was designed and built to reduce awkward body positioning, repetitive motions, lifting, and pinch points making it safer for archaeologists.
Team #46411, Octobots, from Plank Junior High School, earned an impressive 2nd place finish on the robot game table and won the Engineering Excellence Award. This award is presented to the team that effectively uses engineering principles to design solutions to real-world problems. The Octobots researched bronze disease in artifacts and designed a method to help archaeologists reduce its impact, highlighting both technical understanding and a commitment to sharing their findings with others.
Oswego Qualifier Tournament Results:
Team #5356, Domo Arigato, from Bednarcik Junior High School, placed 10th on the robot game table and received the Motivate Award. This award recognizes a team that performs well across all aspects of competition while fully embracing the culture of FIRST LEGO League through strong team building, spirit, and enthusiasm.
Team #46411, Octobots, from Plank Junior High School, earned an impressive 3rd place finish on the robot game table and won the Innovation Project Award. This award is presented to the team whose research presentation demonstrates in-depth knowledge, creativity, and an innovative solution to a real-world problem. The Octobots researched bronze disease in artifacts and designed a method to help archaeologists reduce its impact, highlighting both technical understanding and a commitment to sharing their findings with others.
Team #44445, Tech Preservers, from Traughber Junior High School, received the Core Values Award, which honors teams that best demonstrate FIRST LEGO League’s core values of discovery, inclusion, teamwork, innovation, impact, and gracious professionalism.
Additional SD308 teams competing at the qualifier included Team #46410, Geobotic Rock Monsters from Bednarcik Junior ; Team #45441, Ancient Algorithms, from Murphy Junior High School; and Team #48400, Electronic Axolotls, from Thompson Junior High School. Each team demonstrated perseverance, creativity, and strong collaboration throughout the competition.

Team practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 pm starting Sept. 22 and Saturday mornings starting October 18.
