2015 Season and Results

Henz, Flammersfeld, and Standish Finish Season at West Aurora Sectional

On October 31, 2015, Oswego East was represented by three girls racing at the West Aurora Sectional.  To say the race was challenging would be an understatement.  Alexis Henz, Abby Flammersfeld, and Kendra Standish battled constant rain, cold, and wind all morning as they took on the best teams in the area in hopes to advance to the IHSA State Meet.  Henz finished her season in 52nd place and a time of 19:13.  She was the 18th individual athlete, after the qualifying teams were taken into account.  Henz bettered her seed and ran strong in a tough field.  Abby Flammersfeld finished in 68th place with a time of 19:27.  Flammersfeld, a sprinter/middle distance runner in track, is now 2/2 racing in Sectional meets during cross country season, showing her tremendous range and abilities.  Kendra Standish finished her season in 91st place with a time of 20:10.  Standish has been an incredible addition to the team, finishing in the team's top 3 all season as a first year sophomore.  Henz, a junior, Flammersfeld, a sophomore, and Standish, a sophomore, demonstrate the bright future of the Oswego East Wolves Girls' Cross Country Team.  Congratulations on a great season!

Henz, Flammersfeld, and Standish Qualify for IHSA Sectionals!

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Oswego East Girls' Cross Country Team competed in the toughest Regional in the state of Illinois.  The Wolves chased 6 ranked teams and finished in 7th place, one spot out of advancing to the next round as a team.  At the gun, the rain was pouring down, and the wind was gusting.  It didn't stop the Wolves from giving it their best efforts.  Naperville North won the team race with 32 points, followed by Neuqua Valley with 73 Plainfield North with 80, Oswego with 100, Metea Valley with 106, Naperville Central with 115, Oswego East with 212, Waubonsie Valley with 235, and West Chicago with 272.

Three Oswego East athletes ran fast enough to qualify for next weeks' Sectional Meet at West Aurora.  Alexis Henz, Abby Flammersfeld, and Kendra Standish all finished in the top 5 finishers among the non-qualifying teams to advance.  Henz finished the race in 19:40 in 37th place.  Flammersfeld finished in 19:50 in 40th, and Standish finished in 19:40 in 41st place.  Congratulations to the team on a successful season, and good luck to Alexis, Abby, and Kendra as they try to advance to the IHSA State Meet next weekend!
