Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is an international Mathematics Honor Society. It is designed to recognize strong math students and help them to gain a greater understanding and enjoyment of math. Moreover, members of Mu Alpha Theta are eligible for scholarships, awards, and grants.
To be eligible for membership, there is a requirement of a 3.7 math GPA and completion of Algebra 2 (or Algebra 2 Honors). In addition, you must be currently enrolled in an upper level math course, or have plans for future enrollment in one of these courses.
Membership involves attending meetings once a month. In addition, members will use an online tutoring system to tutor, as well as offer tutoring to OE students on certain days after school. Members also get the chance to fundraise, host a Pi Day event, and design the club`s t-shirt for the school year. Senior members that actively participate will receive an honor cord to wear at graduation.
New member applications will be accepted at the beginning of each school year from eligible students that are interested in joining. Applications can be picked up and returned to the Math Office (E380), or by seeing Mrs. Knutson or Mrs. Gossett.
