Tall Tales

Students participated in an in-depth study of tall tales as part of their language arts curriculum. Each day of the unit, students focused on vocabulary as well as a foundational literacy skill. Learners worked hard to develop their understanding of setting, explaining a problem, finding a theme, point of view, and more. Students enjoyed mentor texts like: Pecos Bill, John Henry, and Why the Sea is Salty.
