Student Registration
All new students should bring copies of their birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency (utility bill, rental agreement, etc.), and his/her health history with list of allergies and current medications when they register.

Kindergarten Registration
August 17: Kindergarten and new to PFSD Elementary Registration 2023-2024
Elementary students who are new to the district and all incoming kindergarteners... mark August 17, 2023, on your calendar.
New to the District: Parents of elementary students who are new to Post Falls School District should stop by their zoned elementary school on August 17th between the hours of 8AM – 2:30PM to register their student for the 2023-2024 school year.
All incoming kindergarten students: On August 17th we will also officially register all incoming kindergarten students and conduct a Fall Kindergarten Screener. During the screener your child may be asked to identify lowercase letters, write their first and last name, and count to 30.
Information from the academic screener will be used to help us determine class lists for Fall 2023.
Please bring your incoming kindergarten student to the school during the following time slots:
Last name beginning A-G (8 AM – 10 AM)
Last name beginning H-R (10 AM – noon)
Last name beginning S-Z (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
For the August registration and screening, families will need to provide copies of the following information:
Certified birth certificate (ordering link)
Proof of residency (examples include a rental agreement or utility bill)
Current immunization records
If you cannot attend the screener, call the school on August 15th or 16th to schedule a different time.

SCHOOL MESSENGER
The Post Falls School District has joined the School Messenger emergency notification system. The system allows the district to communicate via SMS text messages to parents regarding important matters such as a school lockdown, school closure (weather or otherwise) or other issues that affect their students.
To receive school notifications you must opt-in to school messenger. Please follow the steps below to opt in:
Send a text message to 67587 with the word “subscribe” in the body of the text
You will receive a confirmation text reply that you are Registered with School Messenger
GAP Childcare Program
The GAP Program is an Idaho State Licensed before and after school childcare for children K-5 enrolled in the Post Falls School District. GAP provides a safe and healthy environment in which children can engage in a wide range of educational and fun activities. The GAP program complements the school academic program by helping students complete their regular day’s schoolwork as well as providing healthy snacks in the afternoon. Health and Wellness
Post Falls School District nursing services partners with school district staff and community
members to minimize a student's medical barriers to education. Post Falls School District nursing
services provides the following:
Preventative health and wellness services:
School nurses work to limit communicable disease through prevention, early intervention, isolation as necessary, and notification to parents regarding possible exposure.
Asthma classes are offered to individual students or small groups as needed.
Classes about the hazards of vaping/smoking are offered by administrator request.
Growth and development classes are taught by nurses to students in grades 5 and 6 (April - May). Parent notification and preview nights are held prior.
Occasionally Kootenai Health conducts bicycle helmet safety sessions with elementary schools.
Panhandle Health District conducts dental cleanings/sealants clinics and provides a referral for more dental care if needed. Parent permission slips are sent out and collected by Panhandle.
Screenings:
Vision screenings are provided to all students in grades K, 2, 4, 6 (October - November) and also by teacher or parent request (throughout the school year).
Scoliosis screenings are given to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. (March)
Lice screenings are conducted as necessary.
Hearing screenings are conducted by Speech Therapists as requested for individual students. Parent permission is gained beforehand.
STUDENT INSURANCE
Parents: Please be aware that Post Falls School District DOES NOT provide insurance to pay for medical or dental expenses when students are injured at school. Our goal is to provide a safe and caring environment for students. Even with the greatest precautions and the closest supervision, accidents can and do occur. Parents need to be prepared for possible medical expenses should their child be injured at school.
Student insurance with multiple options is available with a one-time payment for the entire school year. Secretaries at each school have student insurance enrollment forms. The State of Idaho medical insurance program, Idaho Care Line, may provide free medical coverage if you meet the eligibility requirements. Call 211 or get more information at www.healthandwelfare.idaho.gov.
IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
Idaho State Law (IDAPA 16.02.15) requires all students K-12 be fully immunized prior to enrollment in school or have an exemption on file (39-4802). If your child is not fully immunized, immunization can be received through the Panhandle Health District, Heritage Health, or your child’s physician.
An exemption form is available on the school district website as well as in each school office. For the website, visit www.pfsd.com. Exemptions may include medical, religious or other grounds.
Click on “Departments” then “Nursing & Community Service” and see “Immunization Requirements Exempt Form” on the right-hand side.
Students born before 9/1/2005 must have 5 DTaP, 2 Measles/Mumps/ Rubella (MMR), 3 Polio and 3 Hepatitis B.
Students born after 9/1/2005 must have 5 DTaP, 2 Measles/Mumps/ Rubella (MMR), 4 Polio, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Varicella (Chickenpox) & 2 Hepatitis A.
7th grade students must have 1 TDaP booster and 1 Meningococcal.
12th grade students must have 1 Meningococcal (MenACWY) vaccine after the age of 16, regardless of previous vaccination.
HEALTH ALERT
If your child has a potentially life-threatening or chronic health condition, please contact the school nurse at your child’s school. The school nursing staff will work with you to develop a safe plan of care for your child while at school.
Student Transportation
In accordance with State Department of Education regulations, Post Falls School District provides busing for eligible public school students living within the District.
Busing is provided to and from one address only for students in grades K-12 who live more than 1.5 miles from their designated school.
Please take into consideration, in collaboration with parents/guardians, bus safety rules and guidelines must be followed by students for their safety.
Any changes in student busing transportation, such as different pick-up/drop-off locations or a different bus, need to be pre-approved through the Transportation Department by a Parent/Guardian and is intended for emergency purposes only.
To register your 1st through 12th grade child for busing, please use our registration form.
For kindergarten busing, parents complete a hard copy registration form. These forms are available in each elementary school office.

Kindergarten students sign-up for busing when they register for school on August 17th.
Parents must transport students who are approved for an open enrollment.
Due to growth within the District, many routes have been adjusted!
PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATED BUS NUMBERS AND PICK-UP TIMES
For information regarding student transportation, bus routes and times, please visit the district website at PFSD Transportation or call the Transportation Department at 208-773-4217. The transportation office is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the summer months. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to make busing arrangements prior to the start of school. Bus information will not be available at the school offices.
Child Nutrition Program
The Child Nutrition Department offers a nutritious breakfast and lunch each school day through the National School Lunch Program. All menus adhere to nutritional standards and provide the necessary components for a healthy meal. Those students who need accommodation for a food allergy or intolerance need to have a signed statement from a physician or approved medical professional on file in the Food Service Office. A monthly calendar of menus will be sent home with elementary students and may be viewed on our website at PFSD Nutritional Services.
Meals served to students will be charged to their account. Parents and guardians who feel they may qualify for the free and reduced meal program for their student(s) are encouraged to fill out our online application. Our online application can be found on our website and paper copies are available upon request. Contact Becky Elmore, Child Nutrition Supervisor, at 208-773-1625 if you have any questions regarding the school lunch or breakfast program.
Payments to your student(s) account may be made online at RevTrak or through Skyward Family Access, by cash or check at the school kitchen, or by mail. For information on using the RevTrak system see our help document.
