Introduce the Lego Mindstorms build and coding by going over the first part of the Building Instructions manual that is in each kit.
Get into groups, distribute kits and Code Tracking sheet, and put names on a sticky to put onto the lid of the kit.
Start building.
Make sure to stop at the page numbers listed on the code tracking sheet and execute the code that is given in the manual. If it works like it should, then delete that code and try one of your one using that same sensor/motor/light/etc. If you're working with a partner, then make sure that you both create your own code before moving on.
If you get through all the required tasks in the manual, then you can work on making your own creations and getting them to work. Below are some links to ideas and other building instructions.
On the last class at the end of the week, we'll take everything apart and do a quick inventory and sorting of the parts in each lego kit.
