Feb 9th/10th - Basketball

Our Senior Showdown ran this weekend, with our teams both putting up stiff competition. The Sr Boys made the final before falling in a close match to rival KRSS. The Sr Girls defeated both LVR and Grand Forks and came in 3rd on their side, losing to eventual winner Kelowna Christian. 

Jan 22 - 27th - Basketball

It was a busy week in basketball with all of our teams competing. The Sr Boys defeated rival LVR in overtime on Wednesday. The Jr girls defeated Grand Forks while the Sr Girls fell just short in a very competitive match. Our Jr Boys defeated Mount Sentinel, our Grade 8 boys defeated Trafalgar, while our Grade 8 girls also fell short. 

Jan 16th - Sr Boys' and Girls Basketball

Our Sr Basketball teams were in Creston on Tuesday, competing against zone rivals. Unfortunately they fell short in two very competitive and aggressive matches. 

Jan 10th - Boys' Basketball

Both the Jr and Sr Boys' teams were in action at home on Wednesday, with the Jr Boys securing their first win of the season 41-31 over Grand Forks. 

The Sr Boys have come out of the gates firing this year, defeating Grand Forks 94-35 to move to 3-0 on their season. 

Nov 25th - Grade 8 and Jr Girls' Volleyball Zone Finals

The Grade 8 and Junior Volleyball teams were all in action for their finals on Saturday. One of the Grade 8 Girls' teams won their tier, while the other team was right behind them in the standings. 

On the Jr Girls' side, both Jr Girls' teams made the semifinals in their tiers before falling to Trafalgar and Mount Sentinel respectively. 

All of the teams showed that they were tough competitors all season. 

Nov 23 - Jr Boys' Volleyball Finals

The Jr Boys hosted the West Kootenay Volleyball Finals at SH. Despite fighting hard, the Jr Boys fell to the competition. They demonstrated much improvement over the season, gaining valuable experience along the way. 

Nov 22 - Battle of the Seniors

The Boys' and Girls' Volleyball teams finished off their year with a Senior's Night where they faced off against each other, with the boys defeating the girls 2 sets to 1.  Afterward, they mixed up the teams for a final set. 

Nov 17/18 - Sr Girls' Volleyball

The Sr Girls turned some heads in their final zone playoffs, making it all the way to the semi-finals before falling to zone champs and 6th place provincially ranked Fernie.

Nov 17/18 - Sr Boys' Volleyball

The Sr Boys' fought hard and played the best they have all season in their zone final tournament, but ultimately fell to LVR in the playoff round.

Nov 3/4th - Boys' Soccer

On Friday, the Sr Boys' soccer team lost in a tight match against David Thompson Secondary. They came back strong on Saturday and finished their season with their first win over JL Crowe this year.  

Nov 2nd - Sr Girls' Volleyball

The Sr Girls' Volleyball team hosted JL Crowe in a best of 5 set match. SH came out victorious, defeating Crowe in 4 sets. 

Nov 1st - Jr & Sr Boys' Volleyball

The Jr and Sr Boys' Volleyball teams competed hard on Wednesday. The Jrs were able to steal one set off the competition, while the Srs split most of their games.

Oct 25th - XC Running

The XC running team was very successful in their zone running finals with one of our runners qualifying for the Provincials

Oct 18th - Sr Boys' Volleyball, Sr Girls' Volleyball, Jr Boys' Volleyball, and XC Running 

It was a busy day in athletics, with multiple teams competing. The Sr Girls' were very successful, getting wins or draws in all of their matches. The Sr Boys' team able to steal some sets in tough competition, while the Jr Boys battled hard and dug deep all evening in the first games of their season. In XC Running, SH faired well against some older, more experienced competition. 


Oct 17th - Grade 8 Girls' Volleyball

The Grade 8 Girls' Volleyball team fought hard during their playday in Grand Forks, splitting most of their games.

Oct 13th - Boys' Soccer

The Boys' Soccer team fought hard in their home playday, holding powerhouse Nelson only 2 goals, while getting 1 in return in a tight match. Unfortunately they did not fair as well against JL Crowe, but look to come back strong against them in their next match-up. 

Oct 12th - Jr Girls' Volleyball

The Jr Girls' volleyball team traveled to Nakusp on Thursday, dominating play and winning all of their matches. 

Oct 11th - Rugby

The fall rugby season ended with a bang. 

The Jr Boys showed great improvement in their play and look to continue their momentum in the spring. 

The Sr Boys came back in their game vs Selkirk, narrowly getting defeated before closing out their season with a massive win over  Nelson. 

The Sr Girls played their most competitive games of the season. Despite the best efforts of their opponents, our girls were too strong, finishing the season undefeated. 


Oct 11th - XC Running

The XC Running team persevered in their race at Morning Mountain. Our grade 8 boys were very competitive in the Jr Boys category, holding their own against older runners. 

Oct 4th - Rugby

The rugby teams traveled to Cranbrook for their latest playday. The Jr Boys' squad performed very well, showcasing Stanley Humphries' rising stars. The Sr Boys split their games, losing the first in a tight match against Kimberly before gaining some redemption by winning their second match and beating JL Crowe. The Girls' team started out slowly, getting scored on for the first time all season, before taking it to Cranbrook and handily winning their first match of the playday. In their second match against Nelson, the girls were absolutely dominant, stunning all the specators on the sideline who came out to watch.  

Oct 4th:

XC Running

The XC running team took to the trails on the Salmo Ski Hill for their 2nd meet of the season. The runners showed great sportsmanship and teamwork during the event. 


Sr Girls' Volleyball

The Sr Girls' Volleyball teams continued their winning ways during their playday at JL Crowe, with both teams going undefeated for the night. 


Sr Boys' Volleyball

The Sr. Boys' Volleyball team showed some improvement during their playday in Salmo. The Boys lost a tight first match, came close in their second,  tied their third before coming out firing to win their final match of the evening. 

Oct 3rd - Grade 8 Girls' Volleyball

The Grade 8 Girls' Volleyball team had a very successful opening to their season on Tuesday, winning the majority of their matches in their home opening playday. They look to replicate that success in their next matches. 

Sept 29th - Boys' Soccer

The Boys' Soccer team started our strong with a win against Nakusp in their opening playday at JL Crowe. In their second match, they fell just short to Crowe, losing in the final minute to a penalty. 


Sept 28th - Jr Girls' Volleyball

Both our Jr. Girls' Volleyball teams played well in their playday in Grand Forks, improving as the evening went on. 

Sept 27th

Girls' Rugby

The Girls' Rugby team dominated the competition in their opening playday, beating both LVR and Mount Baker. 

Boys' Rugby

The Sr Boys' Rugby team were very strong in their opening playday, beating both LVR and Mount Baker before falling to JL Crowe in their final match. 

Om the Jr Boys' side, the boys tied their firat game before going on to win their second.

Sr Boys' Volleyball

The Sr Boys' Volleyball faced tough competition in their opening playday, falling short in their first couple of games before beating Salmo in their final match. 

XC Running

The XC Running team pushed hard in their opening race at Selkirk College, demonstrating great teamwork during their run. 

Sept 22-23 - Jr Girls' Volleyball

The Jr Girls' Volleyball teams opened their season with a tournament at Mount Sentinel. Both teams were competitive in their opening matches, showing promise for the rest of the season.

Sept 20th - Sr. Girls' Volleyball

The Sr Girls' teams combined for 3 wins and a tie in their opening playday at Stanley Humphries. With the strong start, the girls look poised to make some noise on the court this season. 

Sept 19th - Rugby

The Jr. and Sr. Boys' Rugby teams opened their seasons successfully with two wins against JL Crowe in exhibition play. Unfortunately both teams fell to Crowe in a second practice match.
