Talent Show

What is the District 12 Talent Show all about?

District 12 students, parents, and staff are invited to "try out" for our annual talent show. The show is usually in two acts and includes performances by the SHS Chorus and various "staff" acts. Students can choose to sing, dance, act, do a magic show, do gymnastics, do comedy acts, etc. Honestly, we encourage any entertaining act and are open to all types of performances.

There is an audition process so acts can be vetted for their content and performance "readiness." While we want to encourage all students to perform, the audition process ensures the acts are appropriate and "stage-ready." Please be reminded that not all auditioning acts make the show, but we try to accommodate acts as much as possible. There are three teacher judges (usually) who rate the acts impartially and are as equitable as possible.

Any "act" trying out for the show is asked to limit their performance to 4 minutes (there are exceptions). The director may cut an act where they deem it appropriate. Time management is an issue for our Talent Show, so we put a time limit on acts in order to accommodate more acts and keep the show below two hours.
