Overview

How do worms help the soil?

Students learn about earthworms and their needs through experiments and observations, such as “Do worms like it wet or dry” and “Do worms prefer light or darkness?” They will then create distinct layers of soil in two jars and add two to three worms to one of the jars, monitoring it over time see the effect. They will learn the role of earthworms in “tilling” the soil.
