Classroom Overview

Schedule

3rd grade follows a block schedule. The following subjects are taught by each teacher:

• Mrs. Bass: Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies

• Mrs. Bravo: Math

• Mrs. Vargas: Reading and Spelling

Each teacher is responsible for their subjects' grades. Therefore, if you have any questions about grades, please make sure to address them with the corresponding teacher.

Classroom Rules

1. Listen when my teacher is talking.

2. Follow directions quickly and stay on task.

3. Keep my hands and feet to myself.

4. Raise my hand for permission to speak.

5. Make smart choices

Behavior Policy

If student chooses to break a rule:

The student will receive an infraction. The teacher will document the misbehavior on the infraction and share it with the student's parent on ClassDojo.

• 3 infractions within a week = 1 detention

• 4+ infractions within a week = 2 detentions

Rewards:

• Praise (daily)

• Positive Notes Home (random)

• Positive Dojo Points (daily, students can save and exchange points for different rewards)

• School-wide PAWS (every 25 PAWS students will vote for reward)

• The Joy of Learning (each day of the school year)

Communication 

All 3rd grade teachers will be using Class Dojo to send reminders, class news, and communicate privately with parents about any concerns. Please be aware that there are office hours established on the Class Dojo app. Any messages sent after 3 p.m. will be replied to the next school day.
