School City of Whiting Social Work Team

Hello!

We are the School City of Whiting Social Work Team. School social workers act as the link between school, home, and community. We are here to listen, provide support, and advocate for student needs. 

Services we provide:

• Individual/ group counseling on various needs such as:

  • Anxiety/ depression

  • Anger Management

  • Grief/ loss

  • Social/ emotional needs

  • Conflict resolution

• Suicide/ homicide risk assessments

• Bullying interventions

• Classroom SEL (social emotional learning) lessons- Only for Nathan Hale

• Connecting students and families to community resources

• Providing families with information on different behavior interventions/ coping skills.

How to meet with the social worker:

Students may request to see the social worker by asking their teacher, or they can email us. 

Teachers may refer a student to us by calling or submitting  referral form  to us.

Parents can call or email the social worker to request social work services for their student(s).
