Welcome to a new school year! My name is Arisve Rodriguez, and I’m the Wellness Coordinator here at Cabrillo Middle School. Middle school is an exciting time filled with new experiences, challenges, and growth. It’s a big transition for students and families alike, and we know that navigating this time can come with a mix of emotions.
At Cabrillo Middle School, the Wellness Team is here to support every student’s well-being.. Whether a student is facing academic stress, friendship changes, or just needs someone to talk to, we are here to help them feel safe, heard, and regulated.

Andrea is an MSW student at San José State University with experience in community mental health supporting children, families, and caregivers. She is passionate about empowering youth to recognize their strengths and build resilience. At Santa Clara Unified, Andrea looks forward to helping students develop coping skills and feel connected at school. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Rocky.
Jose is one of this year's social work interns and is currently in his final year of the Master of Social Work program at San José State University, where he also earned his Bachelor of Social Work.
Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Jose enjoys hiking, which helps him recharge and stay connected with nature.
Kathryn graduated from the John F. Kennedy University Counseling Psychology program in 2008. Kathryn worked with the JFK Community Counseling Center and a private mental health practice seeing children, adolescents, and couples, before joining the Santa Clara Unified School District. Kathryn has a strong commitment to supporting students learning emotional regulation, developing self-advocacy skills, building resilience, and navigating peer relationships.
Yumin recently graduated from Santa Clara University and is excited to begin her journey at Cabrillo Middle School, engaging with students and families. In Yumin’s free time, she enjoys swimming, yoga, and walks on the beach.
