School Site Council (SSC)

The role of the School Site Council is an important one for every school. The Agnew School Site Council (SSC) is comprised of teachers, classified staff members, the principal, and most importantly, parents from the school community. It is foundational that our School Site Council works together to make our school the best it can be. School Site Council specifically deals with our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). We look at both district and school wide data to find opportunities that will best support our students. Topics addressed at these meetings include: both academic achievement & needs, our school wide safety plan, equity on campus, enrichment opportunities for all students, and other programs that could benefit Agnew students, families, and staff.

Holding a seat, or even just attending is an opportunity to connect with other families and build the community & safety net which supports our child. In addition, SSC provides a respectful place for all our voices to be heard. Last, your involvement will have a direct impact on our school's success. It is foundational, that our School Site Council works together to make our school the best it can be. We are stronger when we are together.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The purpose of the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is to advise the principal and the school staff on programs and services for English learners, and to advise the School Site Council (SSC) on the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Parents of English learners, together with other parents, staff, and community members meet to learn about and discuss services and programs for English learners, and offer advice to improve the education of English learners at our school. ELAC is not a decision making council nor does it approve expenditures from any funding source. It does provide input and advice on school decisions and the use of funding sources dedicated to English learners.

Our ELAC meets to discuss the diverse needs our English learner students. We need you to come, share your feedback, and tell us how we can best support your child and family.
