If you have Core, it means you have the same teacher (ME!) for BOTH your Language Arts and History Classes.

Language Arts
In Language Arts we will be reading and analyzing a variety of genres of literature including short stories, novels, prose, texts, articles and other informational materials. We will also be writing a personal narrative, argumentative essay, literature and poetry analysis, and poetry. Group and individual presentations will be an important part of our Language Arts class, as well as, honing our grammar, vocabulary and spelling skills.

World History
World History
In World History we will learn about the period of time called the Middle Ages which was from 476-1450 CE. We will learn about the geography and cultures of Rome, Europe, Africa, Arabian Peninsula, China, Japan, Maya, Aztec, and Inca during the Middle Ages . We will also explore some of the world's religions including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.

Reading for Pleasure
Reading for Pleasure
Reading for Pleasure is a fun elective where we will get to read books, magazines, and articles of our own choosing and reflect on what we have read. We will have book discussions, character dress-up days, reading challenges, mini-book clubs, movie comparisons, and feasts. Some students may even try writing their own books!
