916 Ink, Young Writers

916 Ink is Sacramento’s arts-based creative writing nonprofit that provides workshops for Sacramento area youth, grades 3-12, in order to transform them into confident writers and published authors. Our workshops increase literacy skills, improve vocabulary, teach empathy, positively impact social and emotional learning, and expand communication skills.

When: Thursdays (Sept 17th- Dec 10th) 

Who: 3rd & 4th Grade Students

Time: 2:15pm- 3:45pm

eVibe, Too Good For Violence Program

Too Good for Violence teaches children violence prevention skills that foster positive attitudes and behaviors to help them differentiate between feelings and actions, encourage respect between peers and celebrate diversity as individuals and groups.

Elementary School Curriculum: Teaches students to differentiate between their feelings and actions to interact in a positive manner to promote inclusiveness.

When: Wednesdays (Sept  30th -Dec 16th) 

Who: 3rd Grade Students (Ms. Eldred's Class for Fall)

MESA: Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement

MESA’s college prep program sparks early interest in STEM by bridging classroom concepts to real-world practice, and inspires youth on their STEM journey to higher education and their future success. 

When: Wednesdays (Oct 7th-TBD)

Who: 6th Grade Students

Time: 3:15pm-4:30pm

Healing Centered Engagement - CARMA Principles

Healing Centered Engagement is an asset-based and culturally rooted approach to healing and well-being for young people of color and allies alike. based on the principles of culture, agency, relationships, meaning, and aspirations (referred as the CARMA principles).

When: Throughout the schoolyear

Who: Targeting grades 4-6
