My name is Meritt Freer.  I have been a 7th grade science teacher at Miwok for 26 years!  Well, I taught P.E. 1 year and it was fun, but I prefer science for sure.  Miwok is a great place to be both a teacher and a student as I'm sure you've heard. I can't wait until we can all be together in person.  Until then, we will make the best of it.  Please know that I'm here for you and your family and will help you succeed in my class and otherwise any way I can.  

I'm a mom of 3 kids (a 33 year old daughter, 19 year old son, and 11 year old son).  I enjoy gardening, hiking, DIY projects at home, boating, and all board sports, especially snowboarding.  I also enjoy watching my son Collin playing soccer and racing bmx.

I'm a total science nerd and proud of it.  I love mixing substances together and watching chemical reactions, I have been collecting rocks for years, and I love plants of all kinds, especially flowering plants. I am passionate about the environment and human rights and have been since I was a little girl.
