Applications are open from now until November 22 at 5 p.m.
Parents must create a School Mint account for students to apply.
Carefully review the requirements for programs you're applying to.
For example, McClatchy's VAPA program requires a portfolio of work.
Students do not need to apply for the general program at their neighborhood high school. They will automatically “roll in” to that program from 8th grade. This Open Enrollment application window is only for the 31 specialty programs and small high schools.
If students are only interested in ONE program, they should only list ONE program in the Open Enrollment application (they’re allowed to list two). That way, if they don’t get in on the initial lottery, they will be placed on the waitlist.
