ABOUT MISS THAMES

Hi students! My name is Cassandra Thames. My last name is  pronounced "TEMZ". I was born in Sacramento and graduated from John F. Kennedy. Yes, I am a "Green and Gold Kennedy Cougar"! I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University, Sacramento. I earned a Secondary Teaching Credential and Master of Education degree from National University, San Diego (Sacramento Campus). I began teaching in 1995, and I am starting my tenth year of teaching social sciences at Kennedy in Fall 2025. In my spare time, I love to sing and create songs, play the piano, golf, play chess, and watch movies. As it pertains to movies, I had an opportunity to win a singing audition with Touch Stone Pictures and was featured in the award winning movie - "What's Love Got To Do With It". I also enjoy writing short stories about my family, which I hope to turn into a movie script. I also had an opportunity to work with the Whitney Houston Body Guard Tour.
